Boys names to go with the surname?

shirazi (as in the wine). my husband is persian and im english so seeing as the surname is persian and my daughter has a persian name i would like my son to have an english name.


I like Tomas (Thomas) but my husband isn't keen. I also love Alexander. We both like Evan and Devon but aren't crazy about them. Any suggestions welcome - modern or traditional but please no stupid made up names with weird spellings.

I'd say Alexander Shirazi but since you husband is Persian and Alexander the Great is called Alexander the Conquerer there I don't kno if your husband will like it lol....

My mum had the same problem as you. My dad is persian and she wanted a non-persian name and she came up with Paul for my borther. Then later found out the name is the same, but spelt different, to the farsi word for bridge!

When i'm older my mum has forbidden me to have kids as where i live there are lots of stabbings and peadophiles etc. and there would be no point having a child and getting it killed. :( I'm only 12 so i don't have to go into it yet :)

Reply:Are there no names that are the same in English and Persian. I know it might not be the case but , for example, in Japanese the name Ken is the same as English. COuld you do that?
