What do you think are good names for characters? Boys and girls?

I'm writing a book and would like to find names for some of the characters. I need a lot of names.

What do you think are good names for characters? Boys and girls?

Reply:I guess it really depends on when and where your story takes place, but I like the names:

Boy--Andy, Jess, Kyle, Skyler, Johnathan, Caleb, Isaac

Girl--Abby, Sara, Mikaela, Emily, Jessica, Gemma, Jane, Catherine

And, all right, I know its hard to find a character to fit this name, but I've always loved the name Rosabel. It's unique.

If none of these fit your characters, go to a baby naming website. They not only have the most/least popular names, they have all the origins and meanings of the names, too.
Reply:Do you want brand new names that you think are original like "Shay" or "Zane"? Or do you want classical names that have been used in literature by greats such as Shakespeare like "Bianca" or "Othello"? I suggest the name should reflect the period you are writing in. Othello is more 1500's, Bianca remains a modern implistic name and Zane is a futuristic name.
Reply:What kind of book are you writing? Because the names of the characters have a lot to do with the subject or the theme of your story. Take, as an instance, Viktor Frankenstein, the name is perfect for the character because of the type of novel Frankenstein is.

I suggest you the names of Caesar, Roderick, Portia, Franz and Lukas...

Good luck with your book.

Search by nationality... want an English name? Celtic? Russian? Names are also separated by gender.

just search baby names on google! :)
Reply:GIRLS_ Alice, Lea, Lara, Bryn, Eliza, Jacklyn, Cooper, Rebecca, Erin...

BOYS_ Blake, Eric, Scott, Aaron, David,Justin..
Reply:What kind of book? My only suggestion now would be to go on a site that lists baby names and look at those.

My personal preference is Algernon. (It means "with a beard"!)
