I picked a few that are 'neutral' and not overly old-fashioned. Of course they would be pronounced differently in English and German, but the spellings are valid in both languages.
Reply:William has German roots
Reply:I met a guy called Mitji.

Kurt is nice though.
Reply:When considering names that are German as well as English, have a native German speaker say the names.

For example, the person that said Bryan doesn麓t realize a German would pronouce this name Bwyan, not Bryan.

What about Wilhelm-like William, only a little more German.

We麓re going to name our son, if God blesses us with one, Benedikt Scott Wilhelm-Benedikt for the Pope, Scott for my Dad, and Wilhelm for my German husband麓s father.

We麓re having a hard time picking out an American girl name-the German pronouciations are horrible!
Reply:How about Emerson? "Emery" is German for "Little Ruler" or "Little King".

Emmett is pretty popular right now, as well. It means "Hard-working" or "All-embracing".

I also like Ritter, which means "Knight."

Good luck! :)
